September 29, 2024 – A P Ventures, LLC (APV), a premier Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and trusted federal and state service provider, has proudly secured a contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) through its National Institutes of Health (NIH) division, funded by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS). This award represents a strategic win for APV, supporting its growth in delivering innovative and essential services to federal clients.
APV is honored to be awarded this contract to support the Genetic and Rare Diseases (GARD) Information Center and associated programs. This contract, awarded via GSA MAS and set aside for Woman-Owned Small Businesses, underscores APV’s ability to bid and win competitively. APV is excited to partner with ICF on this critical project. This initiative aligns with NIH’s mission to improve access to critical, accurate information for patients, researchers, and healthcare providers working in the field of genetic and rare diseases.
There are more than 10,000 rare diseases that collectively affect millions of Americans. Patients with rare and genetic diseases often face significant challenges, particularly the need to consult multiple medical specialists over many years before receiving a definitive diagnosis. On average, it takes eight years for patients to confirm their diagnosis. With support from the APV’s Emerging Technology Lab, the company is dedicated to leveraging new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to shorten the diagnostic journey and enhance the quality of support and resources available through NIH’s GARD Information Resource Center. By supporting GARD, APV aims to help patients and families quickly find reliable information and resources.
In conclusion, APV’s expertise in High-End IT Consulting, Emerging Technology Solutions, and the Health IT domain uniquely positions the company to add value to NIH’s rare disease research and outreach efforts. The GARD contract award highlights APV’s dedication to advancing federal initiatives that address critical health challenges.
